"Show me an angel and I'll paint one"
Earlier this week, my younger sister was discriminated against by being asked to leave a Whataburger due to the fact that she had a Service Dog, Macleod, with her. Disabled people use Service Dogs for so many thing (like detecting and preventing seizures, mobility assistance, diabetes alerts, and deep pressure therapy).
She captured it on film with the officer's consent.
Some local news stations covered the story.
Yet somehow, The Pensacola Police Department and the Whataburger manager have given no apology. Danielle isn't looking for a handout, she is looking for change and safety for her to bring her medically accepted Service Dog where ever she needs to go in day-to-day life.
We all know art can change the world and our communities!
So, feel free to do your part to raise awareness about Service dogs. Put an end to discrimination! Draw a service dog today!
